THis book is an excellent resource for high school teachers with struggling readers. It is full of strategies that you can take into the classroom and use immediately.

"Even the nails are line drawn into these details." While it may not "exactly" match your particular building situation (no dimensions), the details are preformatted on letter size title blocks. If you do cad for residential/light office designs, this is the book to get. There are even combinations of wood on steel posts and steel beams with various roofing, foundation, and beam on post applications. Structural details are the most teadious to do in cad for engineers, which makes having these available so vital to your cad reference library. BUY IT - YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.

This was the basic British introductory text on wood, interesting because of the many stylized drawings of diagnostic wood anatomical characters and because it took into account the timber imported into the UK from the former British empire.

Much of this book survives in 'The Anatomy of Wood' by K.Wilson and DJB.White. The latter is a revision that, although updated and thus containing more current information, was restructured in an unfortunate way making it less accessible. Frank Jane had it right the first time round.

This is an excellent review of the Catholic faith. The other booklets in this series are excellent as well. All adult Catholics should read these books to renew/enhance/review their faith. Also, they are an excellent basis for bible studies or Sunday school studies.

This workbook has been extremely helpful in helping me study and definatly improving my comprehenstion of the materials I am learning in School. Part B: Chapter 5 Managing Yourself, Chapter Managing Time, Chapter 7 Concetration, Chapter 8 Managing your Learning, Chapter 9 Managing your memory, Chapter 10 Class Participation as a Process Skill, Chapter 11 Test Peparation. Part C: Chapter 12 Test Taking, Chapter 13 Test Anxiety, Chapter 14 Test Taking, Chapter 15 Papers adn Written Reports, Chapter 16 Oral Reports, Chapter 17 Class Participation as Output. This sounds like alot, but really it isn't. The book was an excelent read, and there was not a boring moment, and as for this workbook, it was easy to follow and had additional information the Book did not. Also, it has many exercises to help you learn there method and will come in handy the rest of your student career. Have Fun, and Hustle!!!

This book takes you through traditional folk woodcarving, with an emphasis on sloyd (handcraft) knives and some discussion of axe, adze, and gouge work.

The author shows you the tools and how to sharpen them. Then he gets into carving techniques and different kinds of strokes. He discusses in detail control, power and safety. He starts off showing you how to sharpen a pencil, and gets into dough bowls, butter paddles, spoons and ladles. There is a good discussion of how to design spoons so that the strength is maximized by the shape of the spoon and choice of wood.

If you are interested in carving boots or ducks, this book is probably not for you. But if the sensuous appeal of a spoon carved from a tree branch appeals to you, you will find it fascinating.

TABLEWARE IN CLAY is long overdue. Finally, we have a focus on kitchen and dining-room pots that fills a giant need. As an amateur potter, I'm delighted to find, in this lovely book, bowls, jugs, pitchers, serving dishes, etc., that illustrate, by the crisp prose and marvelous photographs, an enormous range of the potter's art. This is a book to treasure and to pore over many, many times, from the chapters that give a sensitive history of ceramics to the overview of studio pottery today and all the interesting "in-betweens". A heartfelt thanks to the author.
